Description
A classic coir mat for a front step. The pile is coconut fiber, stiff enough to scrape grit off shoes, with a black rubber border that frames the word welcome. The backing is rubber so the mat stays where you put it on a dry porch or just inside the door. It is not a loose rug. Shake it out; do not expect it to look new forever. Coir lightens and compacts with weather, which is the point.
Materials & details
- Natural coconut coir pile
- Black rubber border and backing
- Pigment print: the word welcome
- Sizes are in inches: 18×30, 24×36, and 24×48.
- The 24×48 is the long version for a wider opening. The photograph for that size shows the same border style at a tiled entry.
- Best on a covered porch or indoors. Standing water will break the backing down faster.
- Coir color varies a little from bale to bale. Yours will be in the natural golden range.
Care
- Shake or beat outdoors. Vacuum the surface if it lives inside.
- Hose the coir and stand the mat on edge to dry. Do not leave it soaking.
- Do not machine wash. Do not put rubber-backed coir in a dryer.
